You will need to provide evidence of your qualifying pre-requisite qualifications when you book your exam.

Course eligibility

To ensure you are eligible, if you wish to book this course online you must have one of the following:

Current ECS Gold Card for:

  • Installation Electrician
  • Maintenance Electrician
  • Domestic Electrician

Or

Any of the following qualifications plus 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification:

  • C&G 5393 Electrotechnical in Dwellings
  • C&G 5357 Level 3 Electrotechnical (installation or maintenance
  • C&G 2357 Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Installing  Electrotechnical Systems and Equipment (buildings, structures and the environment)
  • C&G 2346 Level 3 Electrotechnical Experienced Worker Qualification
  • C&G 2347 Level 3 Electrotechnical in Dwellings Experienced Worker Qualification
Other awarding organisation or historic qualifications

  • Understand the use of vehicles as electrical energy storage systems as part of prosumer’s installations

WHAT BOOKS DO YOU REQUIRE?

For this course you will require:

  • The IET Code of Practice for Electric Vehicle Charging Equipment Installation (Latest Edition).
  • BS 7671 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (Latest Amendment).

Hard copies of these books will be required to sit the exam.

Booking a remote assessment

This course is assessed through a single online exam. You have the flexibility to take your assessment either remotely or at a C&G Electrical training centre.

When booking this course, you’ll be prompted to choose your preferred option, including the specific training centre or remote invigilation. Once you have purchased this course online and are ready for your exam, call our team on 0800 856 4448 Option 2 to book your assessment.

Remote exams run from Monday to Friday only with three start times available: 8:00am, 11:30am and 4:00pm.

Please note: candidates have 30 min to go through all the checks with their ID/environment, books checks, therefore the exam can start within 30 min from the time given. If the checks are not conducted within 30 min the invigilator might terminate the exam.

This course is assessed through a single online exam, which consists of:

  • 30 multiple-choice questions
  • A time limit of 60 minutes

To pass, you need to achieve a score of approximately 75%.

This qualification meets the requirements for the Electrotechnical Assessment Specification (EAS), allowing you to demonstrate competence to competent person schemes.

The City & Guilds qualification also meets the Electrician Plus standards set by The Electrotechnical Skills Partnership (TESP).
