This course provides a comprehensive understanding of the IET Wiring Regulations (BS 7671:2018, as amended), including the latest changes introduced in Amendment 4 (2026).

This course supports both new and experienced electricians in developing the knowledge and confidence needed to interpret and apply the Regulations in real-world situations, from design and installation through to inspection and testing.
There are no pre-requisite requirements for this qualification, however, all candidates must be over 18 years old.

This course has been fully updated to reflect Amendment 4 of the IET Wiring Regulations (BS 7671), ensuring learners are trained in line with the most current regulatory requirements.
Between April 2026 and June 2026, candidates will have a transition period during which they may sit either version of the City & Guilds online assessment, depending on their preference:
From June 2026, the 2382‑26 online test aligned to Amendment 4 will become the standard assessment option and will be the only exam available moving forward.
You will complete a 2‑hour online multiple‑choice examination, typically taken on the final day of the course. The assessment is the City & Guilds 2382‑26 exam, aligned to Amendment 4 of the 18th Edition of the IET Wiring Regulations (BS 7671).
The exam is open book, and you must bring a copy of the current BS 7671 18th Edition Wiring Regulations into the assessment. With an average of around 2 minutes per question, a thorough working knowledge of the regulations and the ability to quickly navigate the book is essential.
Please note that photographic ID (such as a passport or driving licence) is required in order to sit the assessment.
