This CPD eLearning course is for anyone who has studied the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations before, and who wants to update their knowledge to the latest version.

This is a CPD course and does not include the City and Guilds exam.

Part 1 – Introduction to the Wiring Regulations refresher 

  • Background to the wiring regulations
  • Relationship with statutory regulations
  • Understand the structure of BS 7671
  • Understand the numbering system used in BS 7671
  • Understand the structure and requirements for special installations and locations (Part 7)
  • Identify the information contained in the appendices.

Part 2 – Updates to the wiring regulations in Amendment 2 

  • Why are regulations changed and updated?
  • What about amendment 1?
  • Changes to the definitions and language used in the wiring regulations.
  • Additions and alterations to the general wiring regulations (Parts 3-6)
  • Specific changes to the special installations and locations
  • Introduction of the new Part 8 – Functional requirements, including an overview of the new terminology including ‘prosumers electrical installations’ and ‘reverse’ and ‘direct feeding modes’.
  • Changes to the appendices.
