The Green Electrical Upskill Package – Skills Bootcamp allows existing, qualified electricians to upskill in the design, installation and maintenance of new and existing green technologies including Solar PV, Electrical Energy (Battery) Storage and Electric Vehicle Charging Installations.
This course package has been developed specifically for the Government Skills Bootcamps meaning you can get funding for most or even all of the course fees including the books used on the course.
Skills Bootcamps offer flexible courses of up to 16 weeks that are free to learners. If you are unemployed, self-employed or an employer looking to upskill your staff in electrical installation or green skills we have funding opportunities that can vastly reduce the cost of training with us and in some cases fully fund it*.
* Based on the size of the business, employers may have to pay a small contribution.

This course is intended for practising electricians, generally those eligible for ECS Gold Card who wish to diversify in to green technologies. This package includes the following qualifications:
Candidates will also undertake a short introduction to domestic retrofit to give an overview of the retrofit industry including key roles and options for property owners.
This course covers the design, installation and maintenance of domestic and small commercial electric vehicle (EV) charging installations.
This course covers the design, installation and maintenance of domestic and small commercial solar PV installations.
This course covers the design, installation and maintenance of domestic and small commercial electrical energy (battery) storage installations.
The course is designed to be delivered as follows:
Covers how to assess dwellings for retrofit, identify improvement options, design, and specify energy efficiency measures. This course goes hand in hand with green skills and will give learners knowledge of the subject area in order to deal with customer questions about improving the energy performance of their property.
Aimed at existing electricians, supporting the development of knowledge/understanding of electric vehicle charging design and installations. Learners will understand the specific requirements for the design and installation of domestic and small commercial electric vehicle charging installations.
Aimed at existing electricians, supporting the development of knowledge/understanding of Solar PV installations. Learners will understand the specific requirements for the design and installation of domestic/small commercial solar PV installations.
This qualification is aimed at existing electricians, supporting the development of knowledge/understanding of energy storage. Learners will understand the specific requirements for the design and installation of domestic/small commercial energy storage installations.
As with all Skills Bootcamps, the Green Electrical Upskill Package – Skills Bootcamp is free to learners.Â
However, based on the size of the business, employers may have to pay a small contribution as outlined below.
