These industry recognised training routes are for anyone new to the industry or experienced persons wanting to complete their electrical training.
This course serves as an ideal introduction to the electrical industry, tailored for those seeking practical experience in installing electrical circuits and accessories. Upon completion, learners may opt to join an electrical team as a labourer or pursue further training to become a qualified electrician.
Allied tradespeople might find this training beneficial for ensuring the safe isolation and connection of electrical equipment, including cookers, hobs, and boilers, and other electrical equipment to existing systems, as well as for replacing basic fixtures and fittings like sockets, light fittings and switches.
In this course, learners will acquire the knowledge and skills required to install electrical circuits typical in domestic environments, including socket circuits, lighting circuits, and circuits for showers, cookers, and fans. They will also learn to work safely, ensuring that installations are properly isolated. The course will cover the use of 70-degree thermoplastic flat cables (twin and earth) and include wiring circuits from consumer units, along with conducting basic tests to verify the safety of the installations before they are energised.
This course aims to impart a fundamental knowledge of electrical circuits. Individuals aspiring to perform electrical work independently are advised to pursue further training to become qualified electricians.
This course is delivered over five consecutive days in one of our nationwide training centres.
